A Late 1st Birthday
Paige and Devan, I hate that Chase and I moved away when you were only a few months old because I feel like we don't know each other. We still love you though and are happy to call you our niece and nephew!!! Now since we live in Michigan and you in Utah we don't have many pictures of you so here is what we have.

Back to Memorial Day
Ok so back in my Memorial weekend post I mentioned that we ended our day at the hospital. Well here's that story. For a couple of days I had felt like baby wasn't moving as much as normal. I knew that if I wasn't hydrated enough that baby ight not move as much, so I did my best at keeping myself hydrated the next couple days. It seemed to be a bit better until Memorial day. Again baby wasn't really moving so I decided to call my midwife's. The one that called me back told me to count kicks, but since I kept asking questions and I must've sounded concerned she told me I could go have baby monitored instead if I wanted. It was up to me. I couldn't decide so she made the executive decision and told me to go to the hospital to be monitored. She said that she would rather us go in be monitored and be told everything is fine, rather than worrying about. She also said she wanted the piece of mind too because she would be worrying/wondering as well, so to the hospital we went.
When we got to the hospital the lady who had us fill out our paperwork before sending us up wished me luck. It felt a little weird accepting it because I felt like she thought we were heading up to have our sweet baby, but really we were just worried parents. Anyway we were at the hospital for a couple hours being monitored. They pretty much knew right off that bat that baby was doing good, but they had to keep us for so long because apparently I was having contractions. I say apparently because I couldn't feel them. So during our stay we kept ourselves entertained by watching baby's heart beat, my heart beat, and the contractions. After a couple of hours they felt good with sending us home because baby looked good and they weren't concerned about my contractions. We were so happy to be going home because we didn't want our baby to be coming at 32 weeks. Were glad we went and checked though, because we would rather be safe than sorry, and in this case sorry could've been scary or heart breaking.

Tail of the dragon
Chase and a few guys from work got a car from work so that we could all drive down to Tennessee and drive the tail of the dragon. We ended up leaving later than planned and then because the boys were really nice to me and took breaks we didn't get to Josh's parents house in Knoxville until 2:30 in the morning. It was really late and we were all really happy to have a bed to sleep on. The next day we all split to go do our own thing. Josh had family to visit, Sam went mountain biking and Chase and I went on a scenic drive and a hike.
Tennessee was SO gorgeous and we were soaking up the view of mountains :) I told Chase that I could live down there. Later we all meet up and went to Thai. The food was yummy and our tummies were happy.
The next day, Saturday, we all went to breakfast which was near DollyWood. Josh's friend refers to DollyWood as hillbilly Las Vegas, haha. Anyway breakfast was delicious! Chase and I shared a plate of yummy peach crepes and a plate of chocolate chip pancakes with peanut butter syrup. My favorite were the crepes, they were so good. We then headed on our way to the dragon. The drive was so pretty and we followed this long lake that made me really want to go boating.
Oh side note…. the temperature was amazing, it was 80 the entire time and it felt SO good. We all enjoyed the change from Michigan's 50's.
Alright, so the dragon is crazy! It's an 11 mile stretch with 318 curves/turns. Needless to say I ended up getting car sick, not bad enough to make Chase stop though. I was really happy when we made it to the dam so that I could have a break before we had to turn around and do it again. It was a full day of driving.
That night we went to dinner at a bbq restaurant and then we went for some gelato afterwards. The rest of the group was originally thinking of going to a bar that would've apparently appealed to the car boys, but because Chase and I don't drink/party the others decided to change their plans and that's why we ended up getting gelato :) I thought it was so nice of them to change their plans just so that we didn't go home after dinner. The next morning Chase and I left so that we could make a detour and visit Grandma and Granddad in Kentucky, where they are serving their mission.
They showed us around the Fort Knox Military base which is where they are serving. It was fun to get to see them. It was a long day of driving and not as entertaining since we didn't have the rest of the group to joke with over the walkie talkies.

Watch My Belly Grow
During the pregnancy Chase and I went to our beach and took a belly picture on the dock every week (ok we missed a couple) starting at week 12. It was so fun to capture my belly growing :)

1 week
Heidi you have been in this world for 1 week and a day now. I still can't believe you are ours and that we get to be your mommy and daddy. It's also crazy to me to think that if we weren't concerned about you that you would still be inside of my tummy. I can't imagine not having you in our arms though. You make me so happy and I love soaking up every minute with you. Daddy thinks were spoiling you with how much we like to hold you but I keep trying to convince that it's ok :) Again I can't believe you have been in our arms for a whole week. I have loved every single minute with you. I have loved every smile, every pouty face, every cry, every tear shed by me, every painful feeding, every diaper, ever minute of lost sleep, every time I see your beautiful eyes, every snuggle, and every moment daddy has with you. I love all of these because it means that I am your mom and I love being your mom! We love you so much sweet girl, thanks for joining our family!

Memorial Weekend
Memorial weekend was a lot of fun! Chase pretty much had a 4 day weekend since he got home from Atlanta on Friday and didn't have to work the rest of the day, yay. The weather was nice so we decided to take Kody to the dog park, but first we stopped and bought baby a carseat. Wohoo, baby actually has something now :) Kody was so happy to be able to run free and play with other dogs. Saturday we all loaded up and went to a rally-cross.
Chase and a few other guys from work have a car that they are hoping to race, so it was fun to see what the boys would be doing.
It sure does look like a fun way for big kids to play :) Later that afternoon we went over to a friends house and had a bbq. It was a fun big group, with people from church and people from med school/residency. The couple that hosted the bbq are residence that live in our ward, so that's why we had the fun mix. Oh and lets not forget that there was SO much good food, yum yum. Monday, our city had a little parade for Memorial Day, and when I say little I mean really little haha. The parade started at 10 and we were back home at 10:15. Little did we know though that they would be doing some kind of service at the end of the parade, so Chase stopped mowing the lawn and we walked back over to catch the very end. Our lawn was still pretty wet from the dew so we decided to let it dry for a few hours while we took Kody on a 1.5 mile walk down to a park that they allow dogs at. At first Kody was hesitant to swim, he would wade out in the water but didn't want his feet to leave the ground, but with Chase helping him get over his fears he finally decided that playing fetch in the water was the BEST thing ever. He LOVED it and didn't want to leave. He literally walked away from the park so slow because he didn't want to go home.
After Chase finished mowing the lawn I had decided to call my doctor about my concerns with not feeling baby as much as I thought I should. Which then ended our memorial day at the hospital (more details on that to come). All in all it was a really good weekend and I'm so glad that I got to spend it all with Chase and Kody.
